PM reviews development progress in Damietta Furniture City

Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli chaired a meeting on Tuesday11/4/2023 to follow up development efforts in the Damietta Furniture City (DFC) project.


The meeting was attended by Finance Minister Mohamed Maait, Industry Minister Ahmed Samir, Damietta governor Manal Awad and a host of respective officials.


The premier noted that the development of the city comes under President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives to support the furniture industry to be able to compete regionally and internationally, create more job opportunities and increase exports and the national income.


The meeting reviewed the implementation and development phases of the city under the highest standards of quality in terms of manufacturing, logistics and services, Spokesman for the cabinet Nader Saad said.The new city is one of the largest specialized industrial zones in the field of furniture industry in the Middle East and is expected to put the Egyptian furniture industry on the world map through using international expertise.


The DFC is established on an area of 331 feddans and contributes to providing many jobs, including direct and indirect employment opportunities that are expected to hit 100,000 ones.
