Egyptian ready-made garment exports jump 26% in 2025
Egypt’s ready-made garment exports posted a strong upswing in the first seven months of 2025, reaching $1.939 billion compared to $1.539 billion in the same period last year—an annual growth rate of 26 percent. According to the Ready-Made Garments Export Council, these results signal the start of a new phase of broader export expansion for the sector.
Council Chairman Eng. Fadel Marzouk noted that this momentum is set to accelerate from August 2025, projecting additional growth of up to 35 percent. He credited the Council’s intensive support for exporters and new foreign investment inflows—particularly from China and Turkey—aligned with government development plans in the Suez Canal Economic Zone and other industrial zones.
Marzouk added that with current monthly growth rates ranging between 30 percent and 35 percent, total garment exports are on track to surpass $3.7 billion by year-end, marking a historic record for the industry with annual growth of no less than 35 percent.
The Council has also set a medium-term target of $12 billion by 2031, built on a strategy that focuses on improving the competitiveness of Egyptian products, expanding the base of exporters, and integrating small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) into global trade.
