Abu Ghaleb 220 kV GIS S/S & Ashmoon 220 kV GIS Project

The Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company has applied for a loan from the European Investment Bank to finance Abu Ghaleb & Ashmoon Substations.
The Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) has applied for a loan from the European Investment Bank (hereinafter referred to as the EIB) to finance Abu Ghaleb & Ashmoon Substations Package B "Power Transformers".

The Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company (EEHC) is inviting International Bidders to submit bids for the supply of 5x125 MVA 220/66/11 kV & 8x40 MVA 66/11 kV Power Transformers.

The scope of works includes, but not limited to: design, manufacture, supply, transport, unloading and supervision of erection, testing and commissioning on site delivery basis for the following substations:

- Lot I: 2x125 MVA 220/66/11 KV & 4x40 MVA 66/11 KV Power Transformers for Abu Ghaleb S/S.

-Lot II: 3x125 MVA 220/66/11 KV & 4x40 MVA 66/11 KV Power Transformers for Ashmoon S/S.

Responsive bidders will be selected on the basis of compliance with the schedule, terms and conditions as well as the technical specifications, acceptable past experience including past experience of subcontractors and financial capability.

Financial evaluation will be based on the responsive bidder's financial bids taking into account the economic value of the losses of the transformers offered.

The bidder (including its subcontractor(s) should have a) experience in manufacturing transformers of equal or higher ratings (level of voltages and MVA) which have been put into commercial operation successfully for at least three years in three projects at three different locations one of them outside the manufacturer country during the last ten years b) ISO 9001 and the recent certificates.

The bid document for the above project will be available at EETC's offices on 7 March 2011. Bidders may receive the bid document by submitting an application, in one original and two copies, accompanied by a payment receipt of US$ 2000 (two thousands) from National Bank of Egypt –Nasr City Branch - Cairo, Egypt (Account No.11001007177) at address shown below:

The bids must be submitted on 22 May 2011 in two envelopes. Envelope A must contain all required information, except the schedule of quantities & prices and must be accompanied by a Bid Security in an acceptable form equal to US$ 200000 (Two hundred thousands) for each lot, Envelope B must include the schedules of quantities & prices.

Only Envelope A of bids will be opened on the same day at 12:00 noon O'clock (Egyptian local time) in the presence of bidders' representatives who choose to attend, at the headquarters of EETC at the address shown above. Bidders whose bids have been determined to be substantially responsive shall be informed of the opening date for Envelope B.
