Water reaches Egypt Saint Katherine
South Sinai Governor Khaled Fouda launched a water pipeline to Saint Katherine, the first time in history that Nile water has reached this Red Sea city.
The new 130km water pipeline, which cost LE208 million ($35 million), carries water from Aburdis to Saint Catherine, pumping 5,000 cubic metres per day.
Governor Fouda has also endorsed a plan to build 20,000 housing units to help ease the housing shortage in the 33,140sqkm governorate, home to 150,000 citizens.
