July 18 is first day to promote tourism

The head of the tour guide union in Luxor, Anwar Aboul Magd, told Youm7 in a special statement the union is making efforts to boost tourism. After frequent meetings with the Governor of Luxor, Major General Khalid Fouda, the first steps of success are evident.

There will be a Japanese delegation of senior tourism investors and tourism company owners from Japan visiting Egypt to assure it is a state security and safety and to stimulate tourism. Aboul Magd said there was another delegation of German tourism investors who will visit the province on July 21.
He said the union is thinking of other ways to promote tourism.

In related development, Aboul Magd said the union recently celebrated the graduation of a new batch of about 200 tour guides. They were introduced to all the tourist attractions and archaeological sites located in the governorate of Luxor and were tested by taking trips to the most important areas, accompanied by veteran guides.
