Foreign Minister holds Intensive Consultations in Prague
During his current visit to the Czech Capital, Prague, Foreign Minister Mohamed Kamel Amr met with the Czech President Václav Klaus, Prime Minister Petr Necas and First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Karel Schwarzenberg, where a number of bilateral and international issues were deliberated.
Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Counselor Amr Roushdi stated that the deliberations focused on two main scopes, that is, economic bilateral relations and ways and means of promoting them, as well as the Arab endeavour to secure Palestine's attaining UN full membership.
As for economic relations, the Foreign Minister urged the Czech side to strongly access to the Egyptian markets and benefit from the huge available exportation opportunities, due to Egypt's membership to the main regional agreements such as the COMESA and the Agadir Agreement, as well as the broad and promoting Egyptian market. The Foreign Minister also called for restoring and increasing the number of Czech tourists to Egypt, who, statistically exceed 250 thousand tourists a year.
The Czech President affirmed his concern about the democratic transformations witnessed by Egypt, stressing that his country and the entire European Continent support the democratic demarche in Egypt. He stressed that the success of the Egyptian experience is a success for the whole region.
The Czech Prime Minister expressed his desire that an economic and trade delegation including representatives from the largest companies and businessmen would visit Egypt with the aim of exploring the new fields available to deepening economic cooperation. The Egyptian Foreign Minister welcomed this and affirmed Egypt's preparedness to offer all possible facilities to make the visit a success.
