Al Mansouri in Egypt to enhance cooperation

Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, UAE Minister of Economy, Thursday met with Egyptian Prime Minister Dr Essam Sharaf.

They discussed relations between the UAE and Egypt and ways to enhance cooperation, especially in the field of economy and means of increasing Emirati investments in Egypt, and overcoming obstacles that might discourage Emirati investors.

Following the meeting, Al Mansouri said remarks made by Emirati companies operating in Egypt were addressed, and a mechanism discussed that would address these remarks within a specified period of time.

"The GCC in general, and the UAE in particular, believe that regardless of the conditions in Egypt, it will always have various fields that attract investments," Al Mansouri said.

"We also discussed the possibility of pumping new investments through joint-projects that will be agreed upon in the next UAE-Egypt joint-committee meeting."
