A commission to be established to restore smuggled funds

Within the framework of efforts to restore Egypt's smuggled funds, Minister of Justice Counselor Mohammed Abdul Aziz prepared a draft law for the establishment of a new judicial commission with comprehensive powers to follow and recover smuggled assets and funds.

The draft law shall be referred to the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces for ratification.

On the other hand, Counselor Asem El-Gohary, the Assistant Minister of Justice for Illicit Gain Authority and Head of Judiciary Committee formed to recover Egypt's smuggled funds said that a deal shall be concluded soon with the British side on the recovery of funds belonging to a number of former regime's officials.

This comes after success contacts with the Swiss side to recover nearly 400 million Euros related to symbols of the former regime deposited in a number of Swiss banks.

In a related development, Counselor Gohary revealed that the judicial committee has also authorized a reputable law firm in Spain to take a package of measures that will help Egypt to receive businessman Hussein Salem accused of many charges.
