15 extra days for private-sector real estate developers to submit applications to partner with the government in implementing a social housing scheme
31.05.26

On 30 April, the ministry opened the door for private-sector developers to participate in the program for the first time, with 22 companies having already applied.

The ministry said developers now have until 14 June 2026 to submit their paperwork after the original 30 May deadline coincided with the Eid Al-Adha holiday, according to a statement released on Friday.

It added that additional companies had also expressed strong interest in joining the initiative.

The program is being implemented under a presidential initiative to provide affordable housing units for low-income earners.

According to an infographic published by the ministry, the initiative aims to build around 19,000 housing units on plots spanning more than 383.12 acres in prime locations across several of Egypt’s new cities.

Land is being offered in eight cities: Hadayek October, 10th of Ramadan, New October, New Sohag, Sadat City, New Obour, New Assiut, and Hadayek El Asimah.

The sites include strategic locations near Fayoum Road, the Middle Ring Road, and the Assiut-Sohag Western Road.
