The service aims to provide stable, fast, and seamless internet connectivity and improve wireless network coverage in homes across Egypt to ensure efficient performance, using Huawei’s technology alongside WE’s technical support and installation services.

FTTR technology is an in-home fiber optic networking solution designed to address connectivity problems caused by the growing number of connected devices and the spread of multi-room and multi-story homes.

The technology is intended to meet users’ high-speed internet needs while maintaining network stability and performance. It also serves as a “smart, fully integrated in-home digital infrastructure that empowers households to fully unlock the potential of the latest global technologies,” WE Vice President and Chief Consumer Officer Mohamed Eltouny said.

Internet usage in Egypt has continued to grow, with 7.9 million new mobile internet users added in April, while mobile internet consumption increased by 12 percent compared with the same period in 2025.

FTTR technology also supports the growing demand for digital services and smart home applications through the management of fiber cables installed in existing home ducts or through newly introduced transparent adhesive fiber cables.

Egypt’s communications infrastructure and digital economy have been growing rapidly alongside increased reliance on internet-based services across all sectors of daily life and the expansion of digital transformation initiatives.
