AI key to promoting int’l cooperation: Egypt FM at AIDC2 EXPO'25

Speaking at the second edition of the Data Centres and Cloud Exhibition 2025 (AIDC2 EXPO'25), held under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abdelatty said the event reflects Egypt’s growing role as a hub for AI, digital infrastructure, and data-driven innovation.

According to a ministry statement, the exhibition brought together global experts, innovators, and entrepreneurs. Abdelatty expressed hope that the gathering would further strengthen Egypt’s position as a technological centre in the Middle East and Africa.

He highlighted the transformative impact of AI on sustainable development and public services, noting its expanding use in sectors including health, education, agriculture, and public administration.

Abdelatty also pointed to Egypt’s comprehensive national AI framework, which includes the establishment of the National Council for Artificial Intelligence and a multi-phase national strategy to promote AI adoption, support research, preserve cultural heritage, and build human capital.

Recent government efforts, he said, aim to strengthen good governance, enhance access to public data for individuals, businesses, and researchers, and improve coordination among state institutions through a unified data-exchange framework.
