Egypt is pressing forward with its ambitious development drive in the Sinai Peninsula, as the nation marks the 52nd anniversary of the Glorious October Victory.

Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat extended her congratulations to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the Armed Forces, and the Egyptian people, reaffirming the state’s commitment to developing Sinai through large-scale infrastructure and service projects.

Al-Mashat announced that LE 10 billion in public investments have been allocated for North and South Sinai under the FY 2025/2026 plan, targeting key sectors such as agriculture, water, sanitation, health, and education.

Since 2014, Egypt has launched an extensive development plan for Sinai, implementing strategic projects to boost agriculture, expand road and service networks, and ensure sustainable water resources through desalination and treatment facilities. Among the flagship projects are the Al-Mahsama and Bahr El-Baqar wastewater treatment systems, which together recycle up to 6 million m³ of water per day for the reclamation of about 460,000 feddans.

According to the 2025/2026 development plan, public investments in North Sinai amount to LE 6.6 billion, with agriculture and land reclamation receiving 21.7 percent, healthcare 19.5 percent, and construction 17.4 percent. South Sinai is set to receive LE 3.6 billion, distributed mainly across transport (20.5 percent), healthcare (18.7 percent), and water projects (13.8 percent).

Dr. Al-Mashat also revealed that the “Egypt Services Center” in Arish is nearing completion. The center will provide over 150 government services under one roof, making it the first integrated service hub of its kind in North Sinai.

She stressed that these ongoing efforts underscore Egypt’s determination to consolidate stability and prosperity in Sinai, turning a land of historic victory into a model of sustainable development and national progress.
