Egypt Post wins membership in the Universal Postal Union's Council
Egypt Post won membership in the Council of Administration and Postal Operations Council of the Universal Postal Union (UPU), in addition to being elected as Co-chair of Supply Chain committee of the UPU's Postal operations council. This announcement came during the 28th Universal Postal Congress, hosted by Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from September 8 to 19, 2025, under the theme "Leading Change to Shape the Future." Representatives from 144 countries participated.
This win is a clear embodiment of the regional and international role played by Egypt Post over the past years, through its hard work and active participation in UPU meetings and activities. Egypt Post has received the support and trust of the majority of member states after receiving the highest percentage of votes.
Ms. Dalia El-Baz, Chairperson of National Postal Authority, stated that Egypt's winning of these positions within the Universal Postal Union represents an international testament to the competence of the Egypt Post and reflects its ongoing successes in developing infrastructure and automating all postal services. She noted that this achievement places an increased responsibility on Egypt Post to continue developing its system, enhance its role as a key driver of economic development and a supporter of the growth of e-commerce, and consolidate its position as a reliable channel for providing postal and financial services to citizens across the country.
For her part, Ms. Narmin Hassan, Head of the International Cooperation Sector, indicated that the win stems from the international community's confidence in the role played by Egypt Post and in its competitive and influential national cadres. She explained that Egypt Post's winning of membership in the Council of Administration and Postal Operations Council gives Egypt a strong voice in formulating operational policies for postal supply chains globally, contributes to the development of international standards, the integration of logistics networks, and the support of cross-border e-commerce.
