President al-Sisi emphasizes role of petrochemical industries to maximize resources

President al-Sisi highlights petrochemical and mining sectors as key to value-added production, exports, and job creation.

President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on Sunday, July 27th, 2025, emphasized the importance of projects of petrochemical and mining industries implemented by the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, given their role in maximizing the added value of Egypt’s natural and mineral resources. He added that these industries contribute to meeting domestic market needs and exporting to international markets, as well as to the expansion of related industries.


These efforts shall create job opportunities and boost returns for the national economy, the president said.


He underscored the importance of accelerating the localization of related industries in Egypt and attracting investment to this vital sector.


The president made the remarks during a meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli; Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Transport and Industry Kamel al-Wazir; Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Engineer Hassan al-Khatib; Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Engineer Karim Badawi; and CEO of the Environmental Affairs Agency Ali Abu Senna.


During the meeting, President al-Sisi was briefed on developments regarding the implementation of industrial projects, the provision of necessary raw materials for industrial operations, and means for securing the required financing, according to Presidential Spokesman Mohamed al-Shenawy.
