Suez Canal offers 50% on crew replacement fees

The Suez Canal Authority will offer a 50% discount June 1 for three months on crew replacement fees to encourage vessels that wish to replace and assign seamen during their transit through Ismailia and the Great Lakes.

The following are the details of the Suez Canal Authority's 50% discount on crew replacement fees:

1. A 50% discount on the rental fees for a marine launch used for crew replacement and assignment services at the Ismailia Yacht Marina for vessels transiting the Suez Canal in both directions and within the Ismailia area. The fee was previously set at $400 per hour, with a break of $100 per hour for every additional 15 minutes.

2 - Amending the accounting system to a half-hour period instead of an hour. The rental fee for a launch used to provide the service of berthing and appointing marine crews from the Ismailia Yacht Marina will be $100 after applying the discount rate. Any additional time spent performing the service will be calculated as a full period (half an hour).

3 - All necessary procedures and permits related to completing the berthing and appointment process to change marine crews will be completed by the shipping agent.
