According to a SCZone statement, the project aims to produce over 12 million ready-made garments annually, and the factory's entire production will be exported.

"This contract brings the total contracted investments in the Qantara West Industrial Zone to $579.5 million and provides over 27,300 direct job opportunities through 19 projects," SCZone Chairman Walid Gamal El-Din said on the sidelines of the signing ceremony.

He added that the project extends the trust the region enjoys from international investors, reflecting its ability to attract companies with international supply chains that serve major global brands.

Gamal El-Din also stressed that the Qantara West Industrial Zone is one of the most successful models for attracting high-quality investments, particularly in the textile, spinning, and ready-made garment sectors.

GS Global Sourcing was established in 2017 and is part of a major industrial group with over 25 years of experience.

The company’s sales exceeded $600 million in 2022. It produces around 100 million ready-made garment units annually for several global brands.

The group has industrial presence in China, Egypt, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Ethiopia, and Kenya.

In March, SCZone inked a $10 million contract with the Chinese Jiangsu Guotai company to establish a 21,000-square-metre garment factory in the Qantara West Industrial Zone.

In November 2024, SCZone also laid the foundation for the Eroğlu Egypt for Ready-Made Garments project, valued at $51 million, in partnership with Turkish Eroğlu Global Holding.

The Turkish factory, the second Turkish investment in the area, spans approximately 84,200 square metres and, once operational, is expected to create around 5,000 job opportunities.
