Egypt Announces Public Sector Pay Raises as Part of FY2025/2026 Budget
Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk has confirmed that public sector salaries in Egypt will see a boost starting July 1, 2025, in line with the rollout of the state’s fiscal year 2025/2026 budget. The decision comes as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to improve income levels and ease the financial strain on citizens.
In a statement on Monday, Kouchouk outlined the planned increases: employees governed by the Civil Service Law will receive a 10 percent annual raise, while those not covered under the law will get a 15 percent raise, with a minimum monthly increase of LE 150.
The cost-of-living allowance will also rise from LE 600 to LE 1,000. Additionally, all employees from Grade 6 up to the Exceptional Grade will receive an extra LE 300 in monthly incentives. The minimum wage will be raised to LE 7,000, with the lowest pay grade gaining an additional LE 1,100 in total monthly compensation.
