The competition is sponsored by FinTech Egypt powered by the Central Bank of Egypt.

It took place on the sidelines of the Expand North Star Dubai from 13 to 16 October. GITEX North Star is the world's largest startup and investor event, held annually in Dubai.

EZRAALI seeks to connect suppliers, farmers, and traders through one digital application.

The team competed in the local competition "FinTech Got Talent," which qualified them for the international competition "The Arab FinTech Challenge."

Ayman Hussein, the First Sub-Governor for the Information Technology Sector at the CBE, emphasized that this is the second consecutive victory for an Egyptian team in the Arab FinTech Challenge. “The win highlights the CBE’s ongoing dedication to nurturing and supporting young FinTech talent through the 'FinYology' initiative," he added.

Furthermore, Hussein noted that the wins emphasize the wealth of young talent in Egypt's FinTech sector and further reinforce the CBE's commitment to training, empowering, and developing these individuals, particularly university students, in line with the FinTech and Innovation Strategy launched in 2019.

Last year, the team from the Egyptian American University secured first place in the Arab FinTech Challenge for universities at GITEX Dubai 2023.

Launched in 2023, the "FinTech Got Talent" competition is part of the CBE’s 2020 "FinYology" initiative. The CBE launched the “FinYology—FinTech For Youth” initiative in collaboration with the Egyptian Banking Institute (EBI) as its strategic partner. The initiative aims to raise awareness of FinTech among university undergrad and postgrad students and explore young talent by encouraging and supporting the creation of innovative FinTech solutions to modern-day financial problems in Egypt.

Since its launch, the "FinYology" initiative has made significant strides in partnership with the Egyptian Banking Institute (EBI) and several banks and financial institutions in Egypt. It has seen participation from around 30 public, private, and national universities, with over 600 FinTech projects developed by more than 7,400 students.
