Egypt’s exports drop 22% YoY in nine months

Egypt’s exports dropped 22 percent year-on-year (YoY) to $30.8 billion during the first nine months of 2023.

Meanwhile, imports declined by 21 percent YoY to $58.5 billion from January to the end of September.


Thus, the Egyptian trade deficit declined by around 20 percent YoY to $27.7 billion in the January-September period.


Egypt’s exports increased by 19.4 percent in 2022 to reach $52.1 billion, up from $43.6 billion in 2021, as shown in previous data by CAPMAS.
