An official source at the Cairo Air Port Company stated that an attempt to hack the company's website was thwarted and confronted, as the site was blocked from working as one of the precautionary measures until it is confirmed that it is ready to work again, adding that the site is expected to return to work normally by the end of Sunday.

The source indicated that all services and data on the site are safe and were not affected by the hacking attempt, explaining that the company applies the highest cybersecurity standards.

The source confirmed the integrity of all data and information (including the names of restaurants, cafeterias, duty-free shops, and rest houses), stressing that the company has begun investigations to find out the identity of the entity  responsible for this attempt and take legal measures against it.

It is noteworthy that the Cairo Air Port Company is an Egyptian government company, affiliated with the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation (one of the companies of the Ministry of Aviation). It was established on March 11, 2002 by presidential decision and is affiliated with the Cairo Airport Authority.
