EGYCOMEX Addresses Rising Wheat Prices
On Sunday, the Egyptian Commodities Exchange (EGYCOMEX) hosts session 87.... for trading imported wheat. This aims to provide mills in both the public and private sectors with fairly priced wheat. Such measures have positive impacts, curbing the cost of products that use flour as an essential ingredient.
Last Session's Success
The Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade confirmed the successful conclusion of session 86.... last Wednesday. In this session, the General Authority for Supply Commodities offered about 10,000 tons of imported Russian wheat for sale. The wheat was priced at 11,000 EGP per ton, targeting mills across various sectors.
Consistent Efforts to Regulate Prices
In an attempt to counter rising commodity prices, the Ministry, represented by the General Authority for Supply Commodities, has consistently offered wheat on the Egyptian Commodity Exchange in recent months.... Their aim is to ensure mills receive this essential ingredient at reduced rates compared to other markets.
Additionally, they continue to offer stored imported yellow corn, benefiting poultry feed manufacturers with medium production capacities ranging from 20 to 100 tons per day. This supports small poultry farmers, with over 68,000 tons of yellow corn already offered.
