According to the Egyptian Presidency, President El-Sisi commended the strong historical cooperation between Egypt and France, affirming that the collaboration with the French company contributes to enhancing the management of Alexandria Port, especially in terms of establishing logistic zones to increase its capacity.

This further strengthens Egypt's position as a global logistics and trade centre, thereby supporting trade, export, and import activities, he added.

For his part, CEO of CMA CGM Rodolphe Saadé extended congratulations on the inauguration of the Tahya Misr terminal, praising the business climate in Egypt and expressing the company's eagerness to promote cooperation with the Egyptian side in port management.

Saadé also highlighted the company's intention to expand its operations to include logistic zones and additional stations in other ports alongside the Alexandria Port.

Minister of Transportation Kamel El-Wazir attended the meeting.

The Tahya Misr multipurpose maritime terminal is expected to function as the heart of the logistical station established behind the Alexandria port, with an annual capacity of 12-15 million tons of goods.

President El-Sisi also witnessed the raising of the Egyptian flag on the ship Wadi El-Molouk (The Valley of Kings), the newest and largest vessel to join Egypt's commercial fleet.
