The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) announced that East Port Said ranked tenth in the container performance index for the year 2022, according to a report issued recently by the World Bank.

SCZone indicated - according to a statement Friday - that the evaluation was issued by the World Bank to assess the performance of ports based on the time spent by the ship in the port, the efficiency of the port infrastructure, the efficiency of the berths, the quality of roads, the linking of the port with railways, the effectiveness of procedures, and the extent to which the port is used by various agencies in the field of container unloading.

It pointed out that the port's trading volume affects the evaluation, in addition to the digitization of port services, as this report aims to help create a standard for those interested in the field of maritime transport in the global economy.

On his part, SCZone CEO Walid Gamal El-Din expressed his pride with what came in this report, explaining that the cooperation and integration between the zone, the Suez Canal Authority (SCA) and the Suez Canal Container Handling Company (SCCT) is one of the reasons for the successes of East Port Said within the international ports.
