Egypt announced that the Suez Canal Authority has exempted the "FSO Safer" rescue ship from the Canal transit fees, as a contribution from Egypt, within international efforts, to the rescue operation of the super tanker oil cargo located off the Yemeni coast.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated Sunday that FM Sameh Shoukry had expressed Egypt's readiness to support international efforts to expedite the implementation of the operation to save the Safer reservoir, and to avoid any potential environmental or navigational repercussions that may result from not dealing with this situation, including the contribution of the Suez Canal Authority and its expertise in this field.
