Egypt's exports to Brazil hit $650M in 2022, says official

Egypt was the largest exporter of oranges to Brazil in 2022, as its exports of the fruit hit $7.3 million, against $2.6 million in 2021.

Minister Plenipotentiary and Head of the Commercial Representation Office in Sao Paulo Nashwa Bakr said trade exchange between Egypt and Brazil jumped by more than 500 percent, especially after the MERCOSUR-Egypt Free Trade Agreement came into force.

 

Bakr's remarks came during her participation on Tuesday in a symposium organized by the Agriculture Export Council, in cooperation with the Commercial Representation Office in Brazil.
