The first campaigns of the Consumer Protection Agency (CPA) were launched on Thursday, following the decision of PM Mostafa Madbouly, to assign all regulatory agencies to follow up on announcing prices and obliging outlets to comply with them.

Responsible sources at the Consumer Protection Agency said that more than 20 cars belonging to the Consumer Protection Agency roam the streets and markets of the Greater Cairo region, in addition to cars belonging to other branches that were used to cover campaigns on the streets.

The sources added that Ayman Hossam El-Din issued directives to the directors of the agency’s branches in the governorates to pass through and go to the markets to follow up on the merchants’ announcement of prices in a clear place for consumers, pointing out that the campaigns come in implementation of the Prime Minister’s directives.

The sources indicated that the necessary legal measures will be taken against the violating merchants in the event that the price is not declared on the commodity through the judicial control officers affiliated with the Consumer Protection Agency, which is at the head of the campaigns.
