Trade exchange between Egypt, Arab countries hit $21.9 bln in 9 months

Egypt's exports to Arab countries rose by $620 million, reaching $8.8 billion in the first nine months of 2022.

In the first nine months of 2022, Saudi Arabia ranked first among the first ten Arab countries importing from Egypt. It was followed by the UAE, Libya and Sudan whose imports from Egypt were estimated at a value of $1.8 billion, $1.3 billion, $874.6 million and $637.6, respectively.

The list of top Arab importers from Egypt also included Morocco, Jordan, Algeria, Iraq, Kuwait and Lebanon, recording imports worth $628.2 million, $554.5 million, $546.8 million, $379 million, 346.9 million and 335.3 million, according to the CAPMAS.

Egypt's imports from Arab countries rose by 27.9 percent to reach $13.1 billion in the first nine months of 2022, compared to $10.3 billion in the same period in 2021.

The list of top Arab exporters to Egypt included Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the UAE, Oman, Bahrain, Sudan, Jordan, Lebanon, Algeria and Libya with exports worth $6.4 billion, $2.4 billion, $2.2 billion, $625.7 million, $423.4 million, $364.3 million, $184.5 million, $161.4 million, $101.3 million and $80.5 million, respectively, added CAPMAS.

 Arab investments in Egypt, the statement said, spiked 163.8 percent, to hit $8.2 billion in FY 2021/2022 compared to $3.1 billion in FY 2020/2021.
