During a meeting with Qatari Finance Minister Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari on Thursday, Maait also said that the government will work in the coming period to attract further Qatari investments, particularly in light of the promising development opportunities in different sectors in Egypt.
The finance minister stated that his ministry looks forward to exchanging technical expertise with the Qatari Finance Ministry, especially in light of Egypt's successful economic reform program that strengthened the national economy's resilience in the face of global challenges.
Maait also shed light on his ministry's success in introducing new electronic tax and customs systems instead of the paper-based work environment.
On his part, the Qatari finance minister said his country seeks to boost relations with Egypt in different areas and open new horizons to exchange experience on financial policies.
Kuwari pointed out that Qatar is highly interested in exploring new investment opportunities in Egypt.
The two ministers agreed on modernizing the framework of an agreement to prevent double taxation to encourage joint investments.
