The Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA) announced on Monday it extended the due date, for the second time, for individual taxpayers to submit their tax returns to 16 April, as part of the procedures the government adopted to ease the pressure the people have been enduring to contain the impact of COVID-19.

Head of the ETA Reda Abdel-Kader told Ahram Online on Sunday that the authority extended the due date previously to 9 April instead of 31 March for individual taxpayers.

He said in a statement that the authority has abolished fees of accessing the electronic system for taxpayers to submit their returns for the current season to encourage them to submit electronically and to avoid overcrowding.

He added that the ETA has set up the hotline 16395 to receive taxpayers' complaints while submitting electronically and to answer all inquiries from 9am to 3pm except Fridays and Saturdays.
