Egypt's president issues decree regulating travel of senior officials

President Abdel-Fattah El Sisi has issued a decree regulating the travel of senior state officials for official missions abroad.

Decree no. 23 of 2019 stipulates in its first article that the permission for travel abroad for official missions and activities must be approved by the president of the republic.

The decree applies to the prime minister, deputy prime ministers and ministers of defense, interior, justice and foreign affairs, as well as the heads of independent control and security agencies and their deputies.

The decree also stipulates that travel abroad on official missions or jobs for officials not mentioned in first article must, especially deputy prime ministers, governors and deputy governors, the heads of national agencies, public agencies and holding companies managers, be approved by the prime minister.

The decree has been published in the official gazette.
