Egypt seeking to increase horticultural exports to South Korea

According to Mohammed Dawood, head of Egypt's trade representative in South Korea, Egypt is attempting to open the Korean market for a number of Egyptian exports. Dawood said that South Korea is one of Egypt's most important trading partners and explained that the list of goods that the office seeks to introduce into the Korean market include vegetables and frozen fruits, ceramic, porcelain, marble, granite and wooden furniture.

He pointed out that the volume of trade exchange between Egypt and South Korea amounted to about 2.5 billion dollars in 2013.

Egyptian exports accounted for approximately a billion US dollars, compared to the 802 million dollars of 2012; up 26%, while Korean imports during 2013 reached 1.5 billion US dollars.
