Stock Exchange gains LE 2.3 billion

Egypt's agreements with China made investors more confident about the ability of the Egyptian economy to rebound.

The Egyptian Stock Exchange (ESE) gained LE 2.3 billion on Tuesday's 28/8/2012 trading over President Mohamed Morsi's visit to China.

In China, Morsy signed economic cooperation agreements and secured a non-refundable grant of 450 million Yuan.

This made investors more confident about the ability of the Egyptian economy to rebound.

Market capital reached LE 367.6 billion compared to LE 365.3 on Monday 27/8/2012.

The main benchmark EGX 30 index increased by %0.83 to 5325.36 points and the broader EGX 70 index of the leading smaller and mid cap enterprises (SME) also upped by %1.12 to hit 489.37 points.
