Vodafone Egypt adds low-denomination top-ups
Vodafone Egypt is introducing new low-denomination top-ups. Sold under the name Vodafone Fakka, the top-ups come in amounts of EGP 0.50, 1.00 or 1.50.
The company said it aims to expand the concept to other markets. Moataz Abdel-Jalil, Vodafone's head of consumer marketing, said the idea is based on the common practice in Egypt for small shops to offer customers products of little value on which to spend their remaining change.
The top-ups, available in a variety of retail outlets, offer five minutes valid until midnight for EGP 0.50, 30 minutes for EGP 1 or two hours for EGP 1.50. The airtime is valid for calls to the Vodafone network.
