AgustaWestland North America Inc. reports it has delivered a number of AW139 helicopters to the Egyptian air force.

The helicopters were provided through the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command under the U.S. Foreign Military Sales program.

"We're fully aware of the team it takes to put these aircraft into the hands of our international partners," said Jeffrey Young, director of the Security Assistance Management Directorate at a recent delivery ceremony.

The helicopters were configured for search-and-rescue operations. Work on the aircraft was conducted at the company's facility in Philadelphia.

AgustaWestland will also provide training to the AW-139 aircrews.

The AW139 is a multi-mission helicopter with integrated avionics, a range of 573 miles and a maximum speed of 193 miles per hour.

"AgustaWestland is proud to have delivered these aircraft early and on budget," said R. Scott Rettig, chief executive officer of AgustaWestland North America. "The team fulfilled our commitment to exceed our customer's expectations."
