Armed Forces Complete Construction of 6,000 Housing Units

The Armed Forces completed the construction of 6,000 housing units in Helwan, southern Cairo, within the framework of the first phase of social housing project for low-income brackets.

Major General Taher Abdallah, the commander of the army's engineering department and member of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces said on Monday 5/3/2012 that the area of each unit is estimated at 80 meters each. The units will be handed over to the housing ministry to be distributed by the end of the year, he added.

The social housing project comprises the construction of 20,000 housing units in five years. The cost of the project hits LE 20 billion.
