Telecom Egypt hopes to become 4th mobile operator
Telecom Egypt (TE) plans to apply to become an MVNO if the regulator makes this possible, Ahram reported, citing CEO Tarek Aboualam. TE has also been waiting for the establishment of a new government in Egypt following last year's uprising in order to bid for the coun try's fourth mobile telephony licence. The head of the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NRTA), Amr Badawi, said his organisation is considering offering an MVNO licence to Telecom Egypt and the decision "might be taken within a month".
