Egypt wins membership of Africa’s Peace and Security Council
The African Ministerial Council, currently held in Addis Ababa, elected Egypt to be a member of the African Union Peace and Security Council for two years as of March 2012. Egypt has won the membership during elections held in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa on Friday 27/1/2012.
The remark was made by Egyptian Assistant Foreign Minister for African Affairs Ambassador Mona Omar.
She pointed out that Egypt got 47 votes out of a total 48 votes.
