Egypt's Meditrade buys 38,000 T edible oils - trader
Egyptian commodity purchasing enterprise Meditrade purchased 22,000 tonnes of sunflower oil and 16,000 tonnes of soyoil in a tender on Tuesday, a trader said.
Of the total, Meditrade bought 11,000 tonnes of sunoil from Toepfer at $1,115 per tonne and another 11,000 tonnes of sunoil from Louis Dreyfus at the same price.
The privately owned firm also bought 8,000 tonnes of soyoil from Al-Wataniya at 6,810 Egyptian pounds ($1,100) per tonne and 8,000 tonnes of soyoil from Alex Seeds also at 6,810 pounds per tonne.
The oil is for arrival between Feb. 25 and March 15.
The following bids were made in Meditrade's tender in dollars per tonne, including cost and freight, unless otherwise stated:
* Al-Wataniya: 7,000 soyoil 6,820 pounds
* Alex Seeds: 7,000 soyoil 6,810 pounds
* Louis Dreyfus: 11,000 sunoil $1,123.86
