A launch party for a collaborative documentary website, 18 Days in Egypt, invites people to upload Egyptian Revolution photos and footage tonight at 7pm at Tahrir Lounge in the Goethe Institute.

GroupStream, an innovative group of storytellers created the crowdsourced site with the slogan, “You witnessed it. You recorded it. Now write Egypt's history," in order to compile multimedia documented by ordinary people who participated in the revolution for people around the world to access.

"Throughout the Egyptian revolution, Egyptians have been filming pivotal events through cell phones, taking extraordinary pictures, texting, tweeting and Facebooking their extraordinary bid for freedom," GroupStream says.

Therefore, attendees are asked to bring their electronic devices, from cell phones to laptops, to share their memories and upload their footage to the site at the launch tonight.

Musical performances by rappers Arabian Knightz, singer Ramy Essam and MC Amin will follow the demonstration of the site.

Tahrir Lounge, Geothe Institute, 5 Bostan Street, downtown Cairo.
