Egypt prepares for unified Arab power linkage
The Egyptian Electricity and Energy Ministry is to sign power linkage agreements with Saudi Arabia, as a prelude to a bid to implement the project after completing all necessary measures and studies.
Revealing this here, electricity and energy minister Hassan Younis noted that implementing the unified Arab power linkage intended to hook up all Arab countries to a power exchange for these countries.
The Egypt-Sudan power grid will be linked in 2012 to implement the power linkage between Nile Basin countries, Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia, added the minister.
An Egyptian delegation is to leave for Iraq to offer technical assistance to rehabilitate power grid, after signing av memo of understanding between the two countries.
