Finance Ministry: No Change in Customs Duties

Ahmed Farag Soudi, First Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance and Head of the Customs Department said that there is no intention to increase or decrease the customs duties on goods and equipment imported from abroad in the coming period.

He pointed out that in case any party demanded to increase or reduce the customs duties, the matter is to be submitted to the secretariat of tariff in the department to study it, and then to be presented to the Supreme Council of Tariff, headed by Dr. Hazem El-Biblawi, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance to take a decision on this score.
