Sharaf Opens Zweil's City for Science and Technology

Egyptian Prime Minister Essam Sharaf opens on Tuesday 1/11/2011 Zweil's City for Science and Technology in 6 of October. Egyptian scientist Ahmed Zweil accompanied him.

The Egyptian Council of Ministers recently agreed to Sharaf's licensing agreement regarding the science and technology project in the 6 of October suburb.

Prime Minister Essam Sharaf said that it is an important contribution to the future and advancement of scientific research in Egypt.

Furthermore, Zewali said in a speech at the ceremony that this project is not only a university but also a non-profit project that will boost Egypt's national production.

The project is designed to be a network that unites scientists and researchers all over Egypt, he said, adding that in December he will go on a tour of Egyptian universities to introduce the project and ensure professors' roles.

He added that researchers at Nile University will play a big part in the project.

"This is a national project so I hope the Education Fund will help us, and I hope all Egyptians will help the project, too," he added in his closing remarks.

In the meantime, Minister of Higher Education Mutaz Khorshid said that the project will be the nucleus of research centers affiliated with the Ministry of Higher Education.
