Samsung achieved a share of 35.54% of the total LCD sales in the Egyptian market, Report

Samsung has maintained this leading position for the last 20 consecutive quarters, reaffirming its undisputed leadership.

Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd, market leader and award-winning innovator in consumer electronics, was named “leader of the global monitors market” by the International Data Corporation (IDC). Despite the global economic downturn, Samsung has maintained this leading position for the last 20 consecutive quarters, reaffirming its undisputed leadership.

According to IDC, a premier global provider of market intelligence and advisory services for the information technology and consumer technology markets, Samsung achieved 14.7% unit sales in their global monitors’ market in Q2 2011; retaining their solid leadership position, which they have had since Q3 2006. In Q1 and Q2 of 2011, Samsung sold more than 5 million monitors, the most sold by any individual company, in the world.

Continuing, “We truly believe that our success in the market is based on our insistence to continue to innovate and create the next generation of electronics that we known are consumers are waiting for. Moreover, Samsung’s ability to consistently achieve results has been reflected in the local market too; with IDC ranking us number 1 in LCD sales, with a total of 63.09% of the Egyptian market despite the local political situation.”

According to IDC, in Q1 2011, Samsung achieved a share of 35.54% of the total LCD sales in the Egyptian market, with 27.55% increase in Q2 2011 share to reach a share of 63.09% of the total LCD sales. In 2010, IDC’s collective results ranked Samsung first in LCD sales, with a share of 39.75% of the total sales in the Egyptian market, confirming Samsung’s commitment and dedication to the local market. In 2011, Samsung’s LED monitors’ sales increased by 7.9% in the first half of year, meaning that one in every five LED monitors sold, was Samsung.
