Gold prices rose Wednesday, supported by the rise of the Euro and British pound after they fell Tuesday.

Twenty-one carat gold rose to 285.5 EGP (U.S. $47.9) a gram, 18-carat rose to 244.70 EGP (U.S. $41.50) a gram, 24-carat rose to 426.25 EGP (U.S. $71.52) a gram, and the gold Egyptian pound reached 2284 EGP (U.S. $383.22).

Ihab Wasef, a member of the gold and jewelry division at the Egyptian commerce chamber, said that gold prices rose globally to U.S $1,731 (10,317 EGP) an ounce, after wide fluctuations Tuesday as the Euro fell.
