Egypt-Libya: Fake employment contracts in Libya

The Egyptian foreign ministry has warned citizens on the risk of obtaining fake work contracts in Libya, as peace gradually returns to the country after an eight-month conflict that culminated in the killing of ousted leader Mouammar Khadafi. An Egyptian foreign ministry spokesman said Libya had already expelled a number of Egyptians who flew to the country with fake work contracts purportedly obtained from the transitional authorities.

On Sunday, Libya officially declared its liberation, formally signalling the end of the crisis.

Hundreds of thousands of Egyptians lost their jobs during the civil war that started in February, with hundreds of thousands of others forced to flee Libya entirely.

Egyptians make up by far the biggest expatriate community in Libya, with a population is less than a tenth of that of Egypt.
