OCI Awarded US$ 450 Million Worth of Infrastructure Work in Saudi Arabia

OCI announced today that its Saudi Arabian incorporated subsidiary, was awarded infrastructure work valued at US$ 450 million.
Orascom Construction Industries (OCI) announced today - 6th of July 2011 - that its Saudi Arabian incorporated subsidiary, Orascom Saudi Limited Company (OSL), was awarded infrastructure work valued at US$ 450 million.

OSL’s scope of work comprises major civil, mechanical and electrical works including 1.4 million cubic meters of excavation, 2.1 million square meters of roads, walkways, the supply and installation of 146 kilometers of piping for
the storm water, waste and potable water systems.

Electrical works for the roads include the supply and installation of main substations including 238 kilometers of copper cables and trays. Construction will take 24 months to complete.

Orascom Construction Industries Chief Operating Officer, Osama Bishai commented, “this contract marks a major step forward in establishing OCI in Saudi Arabia and positions us for further opportunities in the future.We are confident that 2011 will see significant growth in our Saudi Arabian business.”
