The benchmark EGX 30 rose by 1.37 percent to reach 4,193.96 points.

EGX 70, of small- and medium-scale shares, increased by 3.03 percent to reach 472.31 points, while the wider index EGX 100 rose by 2.4 percent to 725.24 points.

In another development, Chairman of the Egyptian Stock Exchange (ESE) Mohamed Omran announced the holding of an emergency meeting on Wednesday with securities brokerage division to discuss the problems of brokers.
