Cooperation Protocol Between Egypt and Germany in the Field of Preserving Cultural Heritage

Egypt and Germany have signed a protocol of cooperation in the field of heritage documentation at the Center for Documentation of Cultural and Natural Heritage in Smart Village.

The protocol comes within the context of strengthening international cooperation and benefiting from the experiences of developed countries in this field.

The protocol, signed by Cultnat and Fraunhofer Telecom Germany, is a new form of cooperation in the field of multimedia as an important source in documenting and preserving heritage.

Director of the Center for Documentation of Cultural and Natural Heritage, Dr. Fathi Saleh, signed for the Egyptian side, and executive director of the German Fraunhofer Institute for Communications, Dr. Hans-Joachim Gralt.

Dr. Fathi Saleh commented that "the protocol comes in the framework of strengthening cooperation with organizations, agencies and institutions of the Heritage Documentation internationally, to take advantage of their experience and practices applied in strengthening the system of heritage protection".

"Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft is one of the largest research institutions in Europe in the field of research applied to electronic authentication and dissemination of cultural and natural heritage", dr. Saleh added.

The protocol aims at achieving mutual benefit between the Center for Documentation of Cultural and Natural Heritage and Fraunhofer foundation in the field of multimedia, to make the cultural and natural heritage available for those interested through information based on advanced scientific grounds.
