EMC released the results of an international study it conducted about the rising role of IT in organizations today. The Study concluded that Hybrid cloud was the preferred option by many organizations for its "agility and security".

The findings showed that Hybrid cloud adoption grew by 9% since 2013. Almost 27% of the respondents use a hybrid cloud with Europe and Middle Eastern markets like Saudi Arabia (32%) and UAE (30%) in the lead as they report higher adoption of hybrid clouds than the international average.

The survey also showed that there is a low confidence in IT to drive business growth on its own, 71% prefer a strategy for IT to serve as "an in-house broker of on-demand services" stated the report.

The majority of survey respondents believe that training their IT staff to be in line with the latest trends will be a challenge over the next few years, especially in rising markets like the Middle East and Latin America.

“Enterprise IT continues to be under massive pressure to improve quality of service while reducing cost. As a result, companies are moving toward more advanced levels of IT infrastructure driven by innovation such as hybrid cloud. We expect this uptake to continue in 2015 as companies look for agile, simple, and secure services" said Jeremy Burton, President, Products and Marketing, EMC Corporation.

The study was conducted by Vanson Bourne and covered 10,451 IT decision makers in 33 countries including different corners of the world like Asia Pacific and Japan, Europe and the Middle East and the Americas.

EMC is a leading international company in enabling businesses and service providers to transform their operations and deliver IT as a service.
