Samsung and Al-Ahly Club partner up

Samsung has become the official technology partner for Egypt's most prominent football club AlAhly.

Samsung Co. Ltd., the global leader in digital convergence, signed an agreement with the Al-Ahly football club to retain the title of “Official Technology Partner”. Realizing how vital football sport is for Egyptians; Samsung was extremely eager to reach this achievement and believes that this partnership highlights the high quality products we provide to all our clients and customers.

Talking about the partnership, Duke Park, Samsung’s Egypt Vice President said, “It’s not a secret that football is the most popular sport in Egypt, realizing that; Samsung is extremely thrilled to partner with Al Ahly Club; one of Egypt’s greatest sporting clubs. Collaborating with a club that has been in a leading position in both the Egyptian and the African football profession for over 50 years is a great honor. Globally, Samsung has been a long time supporter of the sports industry and our decision to partner with Al-Ahly club was based on the strong fan base and reputation the club has in Egypt.”

Becoming the official technology partner of the club, is just another milestone in the long line of achievements Samsung has made in the Egyptian market over the last year. In 2012, Samsung’s smartphone market share reached more than 50%, with an increase of more than 30% compared to 2011. In terms of mobile phones market, Samsung’s monetary value market share reached more than 40%. As for the smartphone monetary value market share, Samsung is considered No. 1 in the Egyptian market, with more than 60%. Samsung was able to increase its smartphone monetary value market share by more than 40% during 2012 only.

Furthermore, in the fourth quarter of 2012, Samsung was named as the number one monetary value market share for flat-panel TV’s. This latest achievement further highlights the high quality TV’s Samsung has to offer and the constant innovation incorporated into all of their products, which ensures users have the most user friendly and advanced products on the market.
